Affordable Housing Advocates

NC Housing Coalition. A private, non-profit membership organization advocating for decent, safe, and affordable housing that promotes self-determination and stable communities for low- and moderate-income North Carolinians.

NC Housing Finance Agency.  A self-supporting public agency whose mission is to create affordable housing and financing opportunities for North Carolinians whose needs are not met by the market. 

Community Investment Corporation of the Carolinas.  An affordable housing loan consortium whose mission is to provide long-term, permanent financing for the development of low- to moderate-income multi-family, special needs and elderly housing in North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia.

Central VA Housing Coalition.  Offers programs for low-to moderate-income families so they can get the help they need to buy or stay in their homes.

Telamon Corporation.  A non-profit organization whose purpose is to improve the lives of those in need through the operation of a diverse array of programs for farmworkers, children from low-income families and other groups with special needs

Sanctuary Village.  A development offering moderately sized single-family homes with garage apartments, cozy cottages appropriate for a single person or a couple, and condos in a building served by an elevator. All built to the highest standards of green construction.

ENERGY STAR®.  A joint program of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Energy helping us all save money and protect the environment through energy efficient products and practices.

National Association of Home Builders.  A trade association that helps promote the policies that make housing a national priority.

Enterprise Green Communities.  A framework for developers to pursue green building in affordable multi- and single family developments. Funding and guidance is provided through the program.

EarthCraft House.  A green building program for the Southeast that serves as a blueprint for healthy, comfortable homes that reduce utility bills and protect the environment. 

Advanced Energy.  A non-profit company located in Raleigh, North Carolina that provides an online knowledge library and training courses for builders and homeowners interested in energy efficiency and indoor air quality. Adminsters the SystemVision program, which provides participating homeowners with guaranteed monthly heating and air bills.

NC Solar Center.  A  public service center at North Carolina State University that advances a sustainable energy economy by educating, demonstrating and providing support for clean energy technologies, practices, and policies.
