Virginia’s affordable housing conference entitled “Partnerships for the Future, Reinvesting in Communities” was held November 17-19 in Richmond, Va. With over 900 people attending, it was packed with informative sessions, engaging speakers, tours of local projects and developments, and lots of networking opportunities. It’s always amazing to us to witness the wealth of commitment to the world of affordable housing by the many advocates and professionals. Truly a rewarding experience.

TightLines Designs was again an exhibitor – it was great to see faces from last year and meet many new people from all over the state. David Maurer, President of TightLines, presented our experiences with the Cooke Street community as part of a panel session entitled “Local Government and Development” highlighting the City of Raleigh’s commitment to high design standards and how this efficient, green development concept revitalized the neighborhood. Next year’s Governor’s Housing Conference will be held November 16-18, 2011 at the Hampton Roads Convention Center.
