We posted about a partnership with the NC Office of State Budget and Management –Disaster Recovery in the fall of 2018.
The program is called ReBuild NC and is helping many areas of eastern North Carolina to rebuild after the devastation caused by Hurricane Matthew in October 2016. We’ve worked with the NC Department of Emergency Management to provide 16 customized house designs and plans to best satisfy future local-area conditions (i.e. high wind zones details, integratabtle foundation options, etc.). The designs are comparable in size and style to the prior homes, and also relate to the historic housing context that exists in many of these eastern NC communities.
Construction on the first two recovery homes began this month in Clinton and Lumberton, NC. We are excited to see the rest come to completion throughout the coming year! See pictures:
