On Monday, March 27th, partner Rebecca Morris had the honor of attending the ribbon cutting ceremony for Redhill Pointe in Greensboro, North Carolina. The project consists of 84 energy-efficient and spacious one-, two- and three-bedroom units on the previous Sedgefield Horse Show grounds site on West Vandalia Road.
Construction started in Fall 2019, and like many projects was quickly impacted by Covid in the Spring of 2020. Adjustments were made for virtual meetings, socially-distanced site visits, and material delays. The team was committed though, and construction was completed in early 2023. Now 84 families have a new place to call home.
At the ceremony on Monday, the City of Greensboro’s Housing and Neighborhood Development remarked, “The Redhill Pointe units developed by Affordable Housing Management, Inc. in partnership with the City of Greensboro helped Greensboro to surpass its HUD #HouseAmerica housing creation goals with 21 of the units serving households at or below 30% of area median income. Greensboro was one of two jurisdictions in the state of North Carolina that met #HouseAmerica goals. Greensboro’s rehousing goal was 200 placements and housing creation goal was 72 units from September 2021 to December 2022.” Overall, Greensboro’s rehousing placements totaled 209 individuals/families and their housing creation totaled 90 units!
Developed in part with 9% Low-Income Housing Tax Credits awarded by NCHFA, the community also includes a communal laundry room, exercise facility, covered picnic area, playground, and a multipurpose room with full kitchen & attached covered porch. We are thankful to have been part of a great team helping Greensboro accomplishing these affordable housing goals with Redhill Pointe!
